Narooma Bowls - 4 June

Wednesday 29 May

Another great day of bowls with 5 rinks of triples and a rink of pairs.  This week the winners, decided by Highest Winning Score, were Darrel Goodridge, Dennis Maggs and Les Waldock (skip) who led 11 to 6 after 11 ends before they had a purple patch where they picked up 5 ends in a row to race out to a 33 to 10 lead.  They kept their lead to run out 34 to 13 winners against John Rowley, Peter Hawker and Baxter Smith (skip).

Second prize went to Jeff McCusker, Peter McKay and Keith Pickett (skip) who led 12 to 7 after 11 ends and continued their top bowls to run out 25 to 13 winners against Tony Gors, Allan Chisholm and Peter Jones (skip). Baxter Smith has been playing top bowls lately and he confirmed this by having the first resting toucher at 1.30, well done Baxter. Thank you to Rapley & Son’s Butchery for their continued support.

Saturday 1 June

We had 4 rinks in action and winners, decided by Lucky Rink, were Darrel Goodridge and Rob Coulson (skip) who had a great game where they were down 14 to 15 after 13 ends, all square on ends 14, 18 and 21 and after leading 24 to 23 with 1 end to play they picked up a 3 on the last end for a 27 to 24 win against Greg Cockerell and Keith Pickett (skip).
