Writer's picture: Narooma BowlsNarooma Bowls

Sunday 29 Dec

The winners were decided by Lowest Winning Margin and Kaye Whiffen and Darrel Goodridge (skip) combined admirably to lead 10 to 7 after 11 ends and although headed for 1 end they came back with aplomb to take their match 18 to 15 against Carol Harraway and Pat Barklem (skip). Second place went to Jean Vos (skip) and her daughter and son in law Amanda and Rob Simpson who played some great bowls to lead 10 to 9 after 11 ends and after being down 11 to 12 after 14 ends they produced some top bowls to take the match 18 to 13 against grandson Carter, Pieter Vos and Warren Bender (skip).  A great effort from 1st time bowlers, obviously the talent flows down from Jean and Pieter.

Wednesday 8 Jan

We had a full green of bowlers ready for a great afternoon of bowls, the winners decided by Highest Winning Score.  First prize went to Suzanne Dainer, Dennis Maggs and Wayne Harman (skip) who picked up 5 big ends through the game as they went from a 12 to 5 lead after 8 ends to a 19 to 9 lead after 13 ends and finally took their match 29 to 12 against Cindy Newell, John Voytas and Terry Lewis (skip).

Second prize went to Dicko Dixon. Peter Gruber and Norm Budin (skip) who had a lead of 15 to 1 after 9 ends and continued their attack on the jack as they went on to a 28 to 10 win against John Rowley, Brendan Matters and Baxter Smith (skip).

Thank you to Rapley & Son’s Butchery for their continued support.
