Wednesday 5 Feb
We had another good turnout of 62 bowlers on Wednesday and winners, decided by Highest Winning Score were Rod Walker, Russell Smith and John Spees(skip) who were playing good bowls and after 10 ends they led 15 to 8 and they kept up the good form to take their match 29 to 13 against Trevor Gill, John Nichols and Jim Morgan (skip). Second prize went to Mick Cavic, Peter Dillon and Greg Ryan (skip) who had a close game early on to lead 13 to 8 after 11 ends before they put the game beyond doubt by winning the next 5 ends and then continued on to win their game 28 to 11 against Roger Dean, Barry Hazelgrove and Jim Douglas (skip). Saturday 8 Feb
we had another good turnout and winners, decided by Lucky Rinks. were Shane Parker and Peter Hiscox (skip) who led 10 to 4 after 10 ends and then squared the second half 6 all as they took the match 16 to 10 against Jim Douglas and Barry Hazelgrove (skip).
Sunday 9 Feb
we had 4 rinks of triples and winners, decided by Highest Winning Score, were Olwyn Mayer, Shane Parker and Ken Burrows (skip) who led 19 to 9 after 12 ends and after picking up 1 good end in the run home they won their match 26 to 20 against Gayle Marchant, Ross Richardson and Peter Jones(skip).
Minor Singles
Three matches to report, Peter Hiscox played Garry Burke and Peter continued his current good form to lead all the way for a 25 to 5 win. Peter backed up to play Darrel Goodridge and Darrel got away to a good start to lead 19 to 11 after 15 ends. After sharing the next 4 ends Darrel led 21 to 13 but things turned around from there with Peter finding his touch to take the final 7 ends to go on to a top win 25 to 21. Glen Brown played Peter Tinson and Glen was all over the jack to lead 15 to 4 after 11 ends. Glen kept his form going to take the match 25 to 8.
